Ash Bruhn is a Portrait Photographer located in Brisbane, Australia.
With the passion of photography taking hold from a very young age, it wasn’t until 2014 that she found her true calling; specialising in Women’s Portraiture. After gaining a Diploma of Photography from the Photography Institute, she continued to enhance her skills in real world situations to develop her personal style of photography.
Her style of contemporary fashion-inspired portraiture gives her clients the experience of looking like the women in magazines and feeling beautiful. While having a young family has taught Ash the value of a photograph, it was more the impact of specialising in women portraits that taught her so much about not only herself, but the women standing in front of my camera.
“It’s such a raw, nerve-racking and spiritual experience for a woman to go through. To bare all in front of a camera, without hiding behind children, husbands or even being the one taking the photo herself. I want to create a portrait that captures her spirit and becomes an heirloom.” Ash.
As a professional photographer, she is forever challenging herself technically to be the best she can. Providing an unique style on classic portraits, while using as little props as possible, with mostly natural light allowing the subject to take center stage in the image. Future plans include opening a Portrait Studio, and one day being able to teach other photographers who would love to learn how to photograph women’s portraiture.
